Photograph of an interior view of the conference room of the Los Angeles County Jail, located on the tenth floor of the hall of justice, ca.1940-1949. Three rows of desks sit in the rear of the room, while another desk and a card-file cabinet bearing a sign "Files for use of officers only" sit in the front left. The surfaces of the rear desks are bisected by low dividers stools sit on the concrete floor on each side of the desks. Two panels of barred walls sit at the far end of the room. This conference room was used for prisoners and their attorneys.
