Description
Correspondence from David D. Hatch to Charles Handy in the interest of reconnecting and seeking Handy's advice. Hatch begins the letter praising Handy's article in the Harvard Business Review and goes on to relate that he has transferred from Pepsi to IBM, where he is vice president of organization, executive development and learning. He proceeds to discuss the organizational differences between Pepsi and IBM before reflecting on a conversation he had with Handy at the University of Southern California on large, complex organizations, and how that meeting informs his perspective at IBM. Hatch closes the letter looking forward to a conversation with Handy about the organizational challenges at IBM and how he should approach them.
