Photograph caption dated August 22, 1963 reads, "Dodgers' Sandy Koufax steps out of the on-deck circle filled with confidence, swinging two bats over his head. But it's the same old story at bat - nothing. Luckily, he's one of baseball's best pitchers. He held Cardinals to only one run in 12 innings last night while this happy little tableau was taking place. Dodgers eventually won in the 16th." See images 00162989 through 00162991 for additional photos in this series.
