Photograph caption dated October 30, 1963 reads, "Joseph (Little Joe) Leo Crotty Jr., left, 7185 Pacific View Dr., and Eddie (Big Eddie) de Stefano, 7028 Pacific View Dr., both Hollywood, went to Van Nuys Municipal Court Tuesday for preliminary hearing on four counts of suspicion of bookmaking. The two men, police said, are regarded by vice officers as a vital link in Southern California's multi-million dollar bookmaking racket. They will appear in Los Angeles Superior Court Nov. 12."
