Description
The image is part of a 1984 presentation for the City of Santa Monica Historical Preservation Plan survey. The presentation serves as an overview of the character and architecture of surveyed area, plus some highlights from the particular architectural heritage of Santa Monica.;Located along with Pacific Coast Highway, Sunset Beach Tract is also known as the 'Gold Coast'. Jagged palisades form a backdrop to the east of the buildings on the opposite side of the highway. The Pacific Ocean extends out to the west. The area was originally subdivided as the Sunset Beach Tract circa 1921 by E.P. Clark and R.C. Gillis. It comprised 44 narrow parcels between Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Canyon.
