Photograph was edited for publication purposes Gisele MacKenzie was born on January 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Canada. She was an accomplished singer, actress and violinist and appeared on many variety shows in the 1950s and 60s, most notably The Jack Benny Show and Your Hit Parade. She hosted her own show from 1957-1958, performed on stage in several musicals, and later acted in television shows. MacKenzie was married twice and had two children. She died on September 5, 2003. Photograph caption dated September 18, 1964 reads "Success. Gypsy tells her mother she enjoys her career as stripper and to stay out of her life in tender scene." The article partially reads "The talented actress and singer, who gained nationwide fame with the 'Your Hit Parade' and 'Gisele Mackenzie' television shows, won the hearts of the opening night crowd and the heart of the Gypsy, who attended the opening performance at the Valley Music Theater in Woodland Hills Tuesday."; See images #00137808 through #00137813 for all photos in this series.
