Segments include kids breakdancing in studio and guest Jackie Martinez talking about issues at Tennyson High School surrounding breakdancing - her son was disciplined for "breaking" in the halls, and the principal, who found "strutting" extremely vulgar, was not fully educated on the nuances and background of breakdancing; Lisa Zamora interviews local breakdancing performer; Crazy Crew b-boys from Hayward perform in studio; tape of benefit basketball game held at Hayward High School between alumni and JV team in honor of recently deceased coach Hector Amaya; tape of Aztlan Dance Co. performance; studio interview with DJs Crispin Trevino (?) and Hugo Villasignor, "The Players from Hayward;" studio guests from the Carrera organization, promoting the upcoming Raza Youth Unity Conference at Mission High School in San Francisco. Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year.
