Description
Report to accompany H.R. 4551 regarding amendments to the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. Includes an explanation of the amendment, purpose and summary, discussion, committee consideration, committee consideration, jurisdiction concerns of the committee on veterans affairs, committee oversight findings, committee on government operations oversight findings, new budget authority and tax expenditures, congressional budget office cost estimate, inflation impact statement, changes in existing law made by the bill, and text of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. Also includes an analysis of the sections including short title, authorization for trust fund, definitions, benefit of the doubt, termination of duties of the Attorney General, and exclusion of payments as income for veterans benefits.
The Japanese American Archival Collection documents the people, places, and daily life of Japanese Americans, primarily those who lived in the once thriving community of pre-war Florin in the Sacramento region, as well as the conditions in American incarceration camps during World War II. The approximately 7,000 original items include personal and official letters, photographs, diaries, arts and crafts, newsletters, textiles, camps artifacts, yearbooks and other publications.
