"In the corner is a banner bearing the inscription in Chinese 'Foochow Health and Sanitation Committee,' the banner which is at the front end of the parade, also a smaller banner leaning up against the middle of the wall. The flies formed a squad by themselves, carried by enthusiastic boys. To the left, here the doors are models of rat and mosquito. Lying on the ground is a coffin filled with a cholera victim, adjoining it are three stretchers on which are two men and one woman, sick with cholera. To the right are two floats, one of them nearest the corner showing the dangers of unboiled water. On the float are two megaphones used by the men who walked along side the float." [now Fuzhou]
