Three people sit in rocking chairs, a child rides a tricycle, one man sits astride a horse, and another stands beside a horse-drawn carriage. A round pool with a fountain is in the foreground. Shade trees surround the house.
Title transcribed from back of photo. Date devised by cataloger. "No. 199. Landscape Selections at 'Fair Oaks' Los Angeles Co., Cal." Printed along the left edge of the card: "Photographed and published by," and on along the right edge, "A. C. Varela, Los Angeles, Cal." Written in ink on back: "House built by Mrs. Albert Sidney Johnston -- Crank Family, 'Bertie' on tricycle, Mrs. Crank right, Mr. Albert Bridgen sitting next to her, 'granpa' [sic] Crank in rocker left, 'Ferdie' (Dr. Crank) horseback -- J. F. Crank standing by carriage."
