Photograph caption dated August 11, 1958 reads, "Firmen [sic] wet down debris left by fire that caused $150,000 damage to Lancaster supermarket. Westerly winds fanned flames that raced through building, threatened homes, gas station. Fire fighters were hampered by 500 spectators thronging area."
