Description
Photograph of people gathered along the Los Angeles Aqueduct for the opening ceremony, November 1913. The wide, shallow trench of the aqueduct is pictured running out of the foreground to the left, serpentining downslope and moving rightward in the distance. The trench is protected to either side by a post-and-wire fence, outside of which onlookers can be seen congregating along the aqueduct in anticipation of the opening ceremonies. More of the aqueduct is visible cutting towards the mountains in the center distance.
