"Scraps. Varios. Property of Joshua T. Colvin" written on front page. Thick scrapbook of clippings, correspondence, verse, Christian sermons/reflections, photographs, ephemera related primarily to Colvin's involvement with the YMCA and the YMCA War Workers (Red Triangle League). Topics within the scrapbook include Abraham Lincoln, World War I, World War II, relief work in the Philippines (letterhead announces him as a general contractor and master plumber), Christianity, patriotism, San Francisco Bay Exposition (1935). Includes certificate from The National War Work Council of the Young Men's Christian Associations of the United States awarded to Colvin for his work from June 10, 1918 to October 6, 1919 serving as Social Secretary, Camp Fremont, California, and Entertainment Secretary, Venice, Italy. Colvin is also referred to as a Spanish War veteran in a letter from the Sons of the American Revolution. Colvin received a letter from Herbert Hoover in 1935: "I greatly appreciate your generous offer. I am not engaged in any form of organization. But I do believe that your efforts are what the people need."
