Description: Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. This picture was taken of the Colorado River near Glendale, Nevada, with Mormon Mesa Butte in the background. Photo taken in the 1920's or 30's in the vicinity of the future site of Hoover Dam.
