"17 Mission Los Angeles"--text, handwritten in bottom margin. "Southern California Scenery. H.T. Payne, Los Angeles."--text, printed in side margins. Title transcribed from note on item; date approximated by cataloger based on years photographer operated in Los Angeles (Carl Mautz, Biographies of Western Photographers, 130). The church is also known as La Placita Church.
