Description
The Friends of the River squashed the air from an inflated canvas mockup of an Army truck in a protest against the Army Corps of Engineers. The symbolic deflating of the Corps took place at the front door of the Federal Building on Capitol Mall. Corps offices are inside the building. The friends were protesting resumption of work on a road and bridge relocation project on the Stanislaus River at the upper end of the New Melones reservoir.
