Photograph caption dated January 28, 1987 reads, "Madonna, slink and sassy in a Marilyn Monroe look, provided one of the evening's few fun moments." Madonna won the award for "Favorite Pop/Rock Female Video Artist" and was nominated in the "Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist" and "Favorite Pop/Rock Single" categories. The 14th Annual American Music Awards were held on January 26, 1987 at the Shrine Auditorium.
