This circa 1930 photograph captures a Peerless Ice Cream Company Truck parked in front of a Sacramento-area park. Contact and advertising information covers much of the vehicle. The phrases “East Peerless Ice Cream” and “Its Flavor Means Pleasure, Its Purity Means Health” are written on the trailer section of the truck. Near the time this photograph was taken, Sacramento could boast to having eight ice cream factories, yielding an aggregate production of 750,000 gallons, annually. Peerless Ice Cream Company was located at 1115 G Street.
