Photograph caption dated December 15, 1964 reads, "Valley Kickoff -- Congressman and Mrs. James Roosevelt (R-Los Angeles) attend yesterday's kickoff luncheon for his campaign for mayor. Roosevelt promised the group in Sportsmen's Lodge a "New Deal" for Los Angeles to replace 'turmoil politics'."
