Description
This circa 1915 postcard shows the Sacramento Bank’s main building on 430 J Street. A group of Sacramento businessmen founded the business in 1857 to be a trustworthy place for Sacramentans to deposit their money. The bank moved to the shown structure in 1870, and changed its name to the Sacramento Bank in 1875. The company purchased branches across California, and rebranded to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bank in 1920.
