Description: One pamphlet, copyright 1852, entitled The Massachusetts Teacher...Extra: Fifteenth Annual Report of the Secretary of the Board of Education, by Barnas Sears, published by Samuel Coolidge, Boston. Printed at the head of the title is: "Educational Department ... No. 2." The pamphlet is 24 numbered pages in length and is not illustrated. In it Sears highlights "errors and mistakes [which are] highly injurious" to effective instruction and presents "appropriate remedies" and other suggestions. The two titled sections of the report are "The Primary School" and "The Grammar School." The report ends with a general summary of statistics "relating to the Public Schools of the Commonwealth." It is signed "Barnas Sears, Secretary of the Board of Education", and dated Boston, December 10, 1851.
