A replacement Health Department Building was constructed at 111 E. 1st Street; it later became City Hall West.; Constructed between 1909 and 1911 to the cost of over a million dollars, the 12-story Hall of Records at 220 N. Broadway was demolished in September, 1973. Looking southwest across Temple Street showing the former Health Building, at 167 W. Temple Street, being demolished. On the left is City Hall; behind the Health Building ruins is the original Hall of Records. Dated April 15, 1955.
