Photograph caption dated June 6, 1963 reads, "In a month, something like 800 people attend meetings at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Valley Plaza. As they drive out of the center's parking lot, the brass is currently enjoying some clown's addition to the stop sign. Louis Marino, chief bos'n mate, wonders who put the 'sir' in 'Stop, Sir!'"
