Description
Children of Los Angeles city playgrounds joined with youngsters throughout the nation in honoring the late Joseph Lee, Boston attorney. Lee is considered the "father" of the playgrounds of America because he started the first one fifty-years ago in his home city. This tetherball game at Verdugo playground is typical of the hundreds of play activities open to chidren at the playgrounds, parks, pools, beaches, camps and other facilities of the Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department.
