Part 1: San Jose State Freshman Camp; unidentified man proposes that California state colleges and universities be allowed more autonomy in order to compete in the academic marketplace; Capitol Begonia Festival activities (color, silent) including boat floats and water skiing; Part 2: Father Thomas Fry tells San Jose City Council he is resigning from Human Relations Commission and criticizes their failure to come out against Proposition 14 (silent); musical group from Mexican Honorary Commission plays to invite Mayor and Council to Mexican Independence Day parade next Sunday (silent); demonstration of space suit and zero gravity training by astronauts Richard Gordon and Lou Testaguzza and Lockheed researchers in Sunnyvale (color, silent). Part 3: County Hospital administrator Fred La Rocka comments on hike in hospital room rates after wage settlement with nurses; photographer Bathie Stuart of New Zealand talks about her trip to China. Part 4: 61st Northern California Amateur Gold Championships at Spyglass Hill Golf Course at Pebble Beach (silent); Vacaville National Sports Car Point Races at Vaca Valley Raceway (silent); Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors meeting (silent); outside chambers, Dr. H. O. Van Gilder, pastor of Los Gatos Baptist Church, comments on eliminating welfare payments to mothers of illegitimate children. Part 5: Sites for sports arena or multi-purpose center shown to Santa Clara City Council; San Francisco Warriors hold pre-season training camp in San Jose; Pop Warner football conference in East San Jose coached by George Cobb, Jack Rudd, Roy Salazar, and Leon Jackson at James Lick High School.
