Time was when "Jigger" Statz, left, manager of the Los Angeles Angels, and Bill Sweeney then pilot of the Hollywood Twinks, were bitter rivals of the diamond wars. But today, ah, indeed, "Jigger" and Bill are friends and fighting for the same cause--getting the Angels the 1942 Pacific Coast League pennant, and to date they seem to be doing quite well. Sweeney is now coach with the Angels and doing a good job. Photo dated: March 16, 1942.
