Description
Photograph of sage thistle, [s.d.]. Thick stems curve from the patch of limp leaves at center up to the large, lightly-colored flowers at top. The flowers stand above the dry ground where dark rocks lie scattered. A large piece of seemingly porous rock lies on the left with a bush of bright, lightly-colored flowers growing between it and the wall of similar rock behind it. Rows of short, dark bushes decorate the barren ground in the background. Photoprint reads: "Sage thistle. Flowers -- delicate orchid -- Stamen brilliant orange. Grows 2 to 4 feet high. Small white flower in left center is Pin Cushion Flower", "Philip C. Jones. Trona, California" and, "7510 Claybeck Avenue, Burbank".
