At the northern camp they’ll begin their year of training. They’ll live in tents for a while then move into big new barracks.” Additional photograph caption dated August 28, 1948 reads, “They’re in Uncle Sam’s uniform now. These draftees leave for army camp for training. They’ll live in tents, not houses, will hear the bugle, not the alarm clock.”
