Black and white lantern slide showing a Congolese man, probably a Christian convert on account of his smart European style dress, and two young boys. The man has his arms around the shoulders of the boys, who wear shirts and shorts in a style seen repeatedly in this slide set, which may indicate that the boys belong to a mission school or institution. The boys wear shoes. This slide comes from a collection generated by missionaries working for the Congo Balolo Mission, a mission begun in 1889 under the supervision of the East London Training Institute for Home and Foreign Missions that developed into the interdenominational evangelical mission Regions Beyond Missionary Union after 1900.
