Description
Photograph of street lighting posts near a trolley track, England, ca.1930. To the right, a large pole is visible extending upwards to a group of electrical wires. The base of the pole remains lightly-colored, but the rest of the pole is darkly-colored. Two lanterns extend from the middle of the pole above a section of moss and vegetation. At the top of the pole, two arms curve out away from one another creating a mushroom shape. Wires extend between the ends of these arms and the center pole. Additionally, wires extend from the top of the pole to other poles in the distance. In the foreground to the left, a trolley track is see extending to the horizon. To the right in the background, a group of people stand near wooden carts and automobiles. In the far background, the tower of a cathedral and other buildings can be seen.
