Description
Photograph of a view of an unidentified alley in Hornitos, ca.1930. A narrow dirt road is pictured, a nearly-solid wall of brick building standing to the right of it. To the left, a lone brick building is shown partially collapsed. Farther in to the right, a group of three men can be seen loitering along the building's edge. Shrub-dappled hills are visible in the background. "The town was started by the Mexicans in the 1850's. Ruins of Ghiardelli's original chocolate factory are located on the right (left?). Next door was the Gold Bar Saloon".
