Description
Leah Schulte, co-chair of the Sacred Texts Conference, provides final reflections on the conference and then asks for others to provide their own reflections. Linda Fox, a community member and teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, talks about how she learned so much about other traditions and how the conference changed her perception of Mormons. Arman Ariane, a Zoroastrian council member, comments that he was surprised at the open-mindedness of the conference participants. He comments that he learned about his own tradition of Zoroastrianism as well. Neelam Khoja, a Claremont Graduate University student, comments that in learning to understand all religions, she has come to a better understanding of her own faith. Another conference participant talks about the importance of exposure to a variety of religions and uses the example of his own daughter and how she, at a young age, has already attended a variety of religious places and services. Lucas Schulte, co-chair of the Sacred Texts Conference and a Claremont Graduate University Student, discusses the question of what to do with community members who are not in attendance and what the participants can do to encourage further dialogue and discussion.
