Description
Image of six vignettes of minstrel performers John Callan, Maurice Haley, and James Callan consisting of three individual head-and-should portraits of the Callans and Haley in formal dress and three scenes of the performers wearing costumes and performing in blackface including a scene with one man dressed as a female impersonator and a scene with one man wearing a jacket with the word "RATS" on the back while another of the troupe measures the size of his skull with a measuring instrument.
Probable date approximated by cataloger based on year of newspaper advertisements promoting the group with Tony Pastor's Grand Company. "H.A. Thomas & Sterling / Art Lithographs / 7 East 19th St. N.Y."--text, bottom left. "Electric 3"--text, repeated at right and left borders. "3 Vocalists / 3 Dancers / 3 Acrobats / 3 Comedians"--text, bottom of image.
