Description: Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. In this view lights are strung around the entire construction area, from the Nevada intake towers above the face, down the face of the dam and around the power plant area at the bottom. Dark rocks unlit in the foreground give this a floating look.
