"Facilities are staffed by Japanese, under white supervisors. New arrivals at the Santa Anita barracks are shown at their noonday meal. It included creamed tuna (growing scarce), beet and onion salad, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, bread and butter, apple pie and tea. Huge mess hall has been built at the depot." -- caption on photograph.
