With sentries pacing their measured steps all over the place, the Coliseum on March 3, 1941, became a military reservation as the 160th Infantry, "Los Angeles' Own," was mustered into the regular Army. This photo shows a sentry inside in front of the peristyle. Military passes were necessary for admittance to the Coliseum.
