Los Angeles Police and Fire departments conduct an investigation at Mission Furniture Manufacturing Co. (originally the headquarters for the National Biscuit Company, designed by E. J. Eckel), located at 673 S. Mateo Street and corner of Industrial, where a stuntman filming a practice jump was killed when he leaped 120 feet from the seventh floor and missed the center of an air bag intended to cushion is fall. The stuntman was identified as 26-year-old Brett Smrz. Photograph dated September 22, 1986.
