Description
The verso of the photo states: This picture taken on the exact scene of the lion's attack on the trainer, shows how the near-tragedy occurred. Answering the first alarm that the lions were loose, Rounan, manager of the farm, ran from the office with gun in hand. As he looked toward the left after "Shorttail," "Nigger" stealthily came from behind the row of canes at right, snarled and pounced on him. Another trainer reenacts Rounan's role. Photo dated: Sep. 26, 1928.
