Description
Photograph of an illustration of San Francisco's California Street, west from Sansone Street, ca.1890. The street is lined with Victorian style buildings occupied by shops. On the left side of the street is a building with a tall clock tower that shows the time to be five o'clock. Behind this is the spire of another building. On the right side of the street is a bell tower from a church, topped with a large cross. The street goes up a hill in the background of the picture. There are many pedestrians in the street as well as on the sidewalk. There is a cable car in the middle of the street in addition to several horse drawn vehicles.
