Description
Photograph of a view of a road from Saint Marks Hospital, showing earthquake damage, San Francisco, 1906. Damaged, brick foundations with loose metal wires are all that remain of the buildings on the right. The road on the left is dusty with rubble that has spilled over it from the crumbled buildings. Electrical poles stand along either side of the road with small, dead trees among them. The front wall of a large, two-story building still stands in the background on the left. Small portions of other buildings also stand in piles of debris in the background on the right.
