Description
Photograph of an interior view of Mission San Jose, showing a wooden field-plow, ca.1900. The wooden plow is shown at center, sitting on the stone floor of one of the mission rooms. From its size and design, it appears to be designed for hitching to an ox, horse or mule. The surrounding walls are rough, while a doorway into the room can be seen in the left background, showing wooden supports. The dirt visible through this door suggests it might be a tunnel of some kind, and makes it look rather like a mining shaft.
