Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated March 17, 1964 reads, "Five minutes after flames spread on roof of this house the structure was engulfed in flames and destroyed. Fire fighters make a futile effort to spray water on flames. The house, owned by F. W. Doll, was at 1661 Ridgeway Dr. in the Whiting area of Glendale." The article partially reads, "Gov. Edmund G. Brown today declared fire-ravaged sections of Burbank, Glendale and Eagle Rock a disaster area, paving the way for the federal government to issue a similar declaration to seek federal assistance if necessary...The first report came about 6 a.m. yesterday from the Whiting Woods district in Glendale, east of the Verdugo Hills.
