Description: C. Russell Symes, right, with Leslie Armager, outside of Symes' plumbing and tinning shop. Mr. Symes, who moved to Mill Valley in 1906 and was a plumber for 32 years in Mill Valley, until 1939, had his shop behind his residence at 19 Mountain View Avenue. Mr. Armager would be the Mill Valley Fire Chief from 1942 to 1969.
