Photograph caption dated October 13, 1955 reads "R. L. 'Si' Forsyth, right, happily accepts donation of 40 acres of land by Rudy Schwandt, left, to the Antelope Valley Field Station, University of California Department of Agriculture facility used to try crop varieties. Station at 100th Street West and Avenue I was set up on another 40 acres donated by Schwandt several years ago."
