Description
The photo caption published in the Sacramento Bee on May 12, 1968 states: "A grove of palm trees, about 70 years old, has sprouted almost overnight in the northwest quadrant of the still-unopened Oak Park Interchange of the W-X Streets Freeway. The trees, uprooted during construction, were stored a few blocks away until they could be transplanted. These photos show the transplanting operation above and a few of the more that 30 palms in an oasis-like setting, below (subject photo)."
