Description
Republican mural, Divismore Way, Ballymurphy, West Belfast, 2002. Image shows four armed IRA (Irish Republican Army) Volunteers (with rifles and RPG7 rocket launcher) eating at safe house; two elderly women looking after them; the main figure is Thomas 'Toddler' Tolan, officer commanding IRA, Ballymurphy, killed by rival official IRA, 27 July 1977 (on the next street); other Volunteers are Michael Kane, 4 September 1970, James McGillen, 15 February 1976, John Stone, 21 January 1975; multicoloured Celtic surround, which includes emblems of four provinces of Ireland.
