Photograph was edited for publication purposes In January, 1949, more than half an inch of snow covered the Civic Center in Downtown Los Angeles. In the San Fernando Valley, almost a foot of snow accumulated over three days. Photograph caption dated January 11, 1949 reads "Bill Snow, 5, and Fred Snow, 2, build a snowman on the front lawn of their North Hollywood home. The snow was a big thrill for the two little Snows."
