Probable date based on printer history; Edward Jones partnered with George W. Newman in 1847 and 1848 (Last, The Color Explosion, page 198). "Drawn from Nature by E. Whitefield."--text, bottom left. "Printed by E. Jones & G.W. Newman, N.Y."--text, bottom right.
