Description
Built in c. 1862 under the auspices of Burchard Villiger, S.J., President of Santa Clara College from 1861-1865, the Faculty Residence was a four-story wooden structure with a foundation located on the former residence of the Fransiscan missionaries. Original adobe walls were located on the first floor of the building. The residence also served as administrative offices for the College. In 1909, the building was destroyed by fire.
