Description
Pictured in circa 1913, at the northeast corner of Twelfth and J Streets, is the Theater Diepenbrock. Built in 1911, the venue became, along with the Pantages Theater on 615 K Street, a popular spot to take in vaudeville, all the entertainment rage at the turn of the century. Atop the building is a sign advertising the San Francisco-based Orpheum circuit. The Diepenbrock was felled by fire in 1927.
